UPDATE: website is here: leggerostudio.com/noc/

Green Cube Gallery is proud to announce the exhibition made by Luca Leggero. Not Only Cigarettes is a new video art exhibition format created in order to be shown through the screen of a cigarette vending machine. The project will run both in real life (IRL), on a physical vending machine in Viareggio (Italy) and, URL, on the Green Cube Gallery exhibition space ➡️ https://greencube.gallery

Luca Leggero transformed the integrated screen of a common vending machine into a video art display. This machine, which is located on the sidewalk outside a bar, is visible by drivers and random people who pass by. It works 24 hours a day streaming video art on loop to an unexpecting audience.

Today Not Only Cigarettes is also opening on the Green Cube Gallery exhibition space. The users will be able to get insights in case they want to re-propose this exhibition format on their own local vending machine (there is a downloadable PDF form made available by the artist 😉). Furthermore, the gallery will host ongoing sneak previews of the videos currently playing on the vending machine in real time.

The machine will be operating on weekdays featuring works by: Alessandro Giannetti, Alessandro Nucci, Ana Mrovlje, Carlo Galli, Carlo Zanni, Charles Regoli, Cristina Gardumi, Daniela D’Amore, Davide Bondielli, Devid Ciampalini, Diego Caglioni, Domenico Dom Barra, Dominik Podsiadly, Fred Cosci, Giacomo Verde, Gian Luca Cupisti, Jennyfer Haddad, Luca Pozzi, Lucia Cristiani, Maicol Borghetti, Mara Oscar Cassiani, Marco Belfiore, Marco Cadioli, Marco Mendeni, Maria Chiara Gagliardi, Rachel Morellet, Rolenzo, Sandrine Deumier, Silvio Lorusso, Tatiana Villani, Valentina Lapolla, Vincent Moro.

W8T of F8T

What is love? We do not have the answer, but we know that it often has to do with desire and fear.
This is why we have imagined a form that is common today at the beginning of internet relations, the form of waiting that brings with it hopes and projects.
The video is the shooting of a monitor in which you can see the waiting dots of a love conversation, we imagine it exposed in a loop so potentially infinite. The image highlights in the scroll two waves, one formed by the dots and a sort of mobile tide formed by the reverberation of a backlit monitor.
The title wants to contain this uncertainty:
W8T of F8T plays between two possible interpretations wait of fate and weight of fate.
Graphically, the number 8 can be rotated, turning into the infinity symbol.

Opening Nov 1 2017 @ Greencube Gallery

Greencube Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Your Content is Here, an international group exhibition curated by TWT1. The show will be visible as online pavilion of The Wrong – New Digital Art Biennale from November 1, 2017 to January 31, 2018.

During summer 2017, temporary work team TWT1 (Matìas Ezequiel Reyes, Lorenzo Fiduccia, Giacomo Ghiri, Cesare Olivieri and Kevin Piccioli) organized a helped happening inside the streets of Carrara, Italy.

Haunted by the inevitable specter of détournement and the frenzy of representation, a near-meaningless protest has been constructed just to be filmed and packaged in small video clips.

Greenscreen-like banners and flag were distributed to stage a rally that happened to be recorded. Moving through the small town the event gathered curiosity of the locals whom, amused, often asked explanations and followed the march.

This little slice of reality was chaotically grasped by cameras and meticulously divided in short-running clips. The obvious stylistic choice of the chroma key-friendly banners was meant to exasperate the gap between live-interpreting the signs of an event occurring and reading it as a transmitted account.

The footage is then given to a number of artists whose role is that of a content bender. Reconstructing the flow, working in and around the green spaces, playing with that same image-fixated imagery which the rally had become part.

The participating artists are: Marco Cadioli, Massimo Cittadini, Federico Cosci, Hannan Jones, Tara Kelton, Luca Leggero, Laika Lovelace, Sabrina Melis, Andrea Natella, Perla Sardella, Giacomo Verde, Tatiana Villani, Mighty_Kongbot.
